Disneyland/Disney California Adventure
1) Fantasmic
2) World of Color
3) Indiana Jones Adventure
4) Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
5) Walt Disney’s Apartment Lantern - as you enter (or leave the park) you can see Walt Disney’s Apartment Lantern that's always kept lit representing Walt’s spirit.
Bonus: Stop by Crystal Arcade and pick up a Mickey Mouse rice krispy treat, it's a must-do tradition whenever I go that started when I went with my mom at a young age! During the holiday season, definitely check out "Haunted Mansion Holiday."
Fun Fact: Disneyland/Disney California Adventure host various special events throughout the year! I've been able to participate in several events including Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party, Disneyland After Dark: Heroes Assemble and of course, Disneyland’s Birthday on July 17th!
Walt Disney World
1) Avatar Flight of Passage
2) Kilimanjaro Safaris
3) Food & Wine Festival at Epcot
4) Dinosaur
5) Expedition Everest
Fun Fact: My favorite item during the Epcot Food & Wine Festival is featured in the Canada Pavilion -- Le Cellier Wild Mushroom Beef Filet Mignon!
Hong Kong Disneyland
1) Mystic Manor
2) Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars
3) Iron Man Experience
4) Disney’s Flights of Fantasy Parade
5) Mickey and the Wondrous Book
Fun Fact: When Hong Kong Disneyland was opening, Imagineers wanted to build & design original concepts/rides rather than recreate Western rides. Mystic Manor was created to be an alternative version of The Haunted Mansion with the premise of a cursed artifact being opened causing the items in the manor to come to life rather than the manor inhabiting ghosts. In Chinese culture, the spirits of the deceased are seen as something that should be honored rather than feared (also part of the reason why supernatural films featuring ghosts are not allowed to be distributed & featured in China). Additionally the ride's score & theme song were written by Danny Elfman whose cartoon photo can be seen in the ride queue!
Shanghai Disneyland- Authentically Disney & Distinctly Chinese
1) "Ignite the Dream – A Nighttime Spectacular of Magic and Light"
2) Pirates of the Caribbean Battle for the Sunken Treasure ride (this is the best Pirates ride, hands down, across all of the parks!)
3) Tron Lightcycle Power Run
4) The Garden of the Twelve Friends
5) Eye of the Storm: Captain Jack Stunt Spectacular
Bonus: Lakeshore Boat Rental outside of Shanghai Disneyland at Wishing Star Lake is a great way to spend an afternoon on a beautiful day!
Unfortunately, I haven't been to the following parks as recently (think circa 2004 & 2007), but as you know sometimes the classics tend to stick around at theme parks, and if so I highly recommend:
Tokyo DisneySea
Indiana Jones® Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull
Journey to the Center of the Earth
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
Sinbad’s Storybook Voyage
Disneyland Paris
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril
I hope you all find these tips useful as you continue to plan and explore your Disney adventures! Please feel free to reach out with any questions/comments and share your favorite things to do, see and eat when you go to these amazing parks. And remember...
I only hope that we never lose sight of one thing — that it was all started by a mouse.
